PROPOSED JOB PROFILE FOR THE POST OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (TECHNICAL)

Pay Scale : Rs. 62,000-80000 (IDA) i.e. E9 in TCIL
Job Profile :
- Business development in the areas of Telecom and IT with focus on Satellite Communication Systems, VSAT based networks, Wireless Communication Systems including GSM, CDMA, LTE etc, and the Next Generation Networks (NGN), e–Networks, Telecom Infrastructure including different Wide Area Networks (Converged) Projects, e-Governance infrastructure and applications at national & international level.
- Turnkey execution and project management & control in the areas of Telecom Infrastructure, e-Networks.
- Skill & Business Development in Newer Technologies in field of Telecom & IT.
- Development of technical partners, vendors & consortium partners in the Telecom/IT technology area for bidding and execution of projects, including market research and development.
- Technological skill upgradation & Talent Management for all the projects in Technical Division and keeping abreast of technology trends.
- Project Management of National & International projects.
- Operation of TCIL’s Technical division as a profit centre in accordance with the TCIL’s Corporate Plan and targets fixed by the Board.
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Communications / Computer Science.
Desirable :
- Master’s Degree in Engineering in the relevant field of Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Communications/Computer Science.
- MBA or its equivalent post Graduate Diploma in Management from a recognized Institute.
Experience:
- SAG Officer of ITS Group A of DOT/BSNL/MTNL in the pay scale of Rs. 37400-67000 (CDA) with grade pay of Rs. 10,000/- or equivalent officers absorbed in IDA pay scale having minimum experience of 10 years in the field of IT & Networking.
Or
- Group General Managers of TCIL and equivalent officers in other PSUs working in the pay scale of Rs. 37400-67000 (CDA) / Rs. 51300-73000 (IDA) having at least 10 years experience in the field of IT & Networking.
Or
- Management executives having experience of minimum 20 years in reputed non-Governmental organizations out of which at least 10 years experience in the field of Telecom and IT and two years should be as head of Independent Business units. They should have proven track record of business acquisition and project execution in the fields of Telecom and IT. The last package drawn should not be less than Rs. 20 lakhs per annum in a company having annual turnover of more than Rs. 100 crores.
Maximum Age: 55 years for external candidates and one year relaxation for internal candidates as on 31.03.2011.
